            Summary: OmniRemote is designed with privacy as a core principle. All device control happens locally on your network. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.
        

1. Introduction

One Eye Enterprises LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the OmniRemote application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our products:

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

OmniRemote is designed for local control. We do NOT collect:

Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
Device control commands or usage patterns
IR codes or device configurations
Network information or IP addresses
Location data (GPS, WiFi-based, or IP-based)
Analytics, telemetry, or tracking data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs

2.2 Information Stored Locally

The following information is stored locally on your devices and is never transmitted to us:

Iris Hub Configuration: WiFi credentials, device settings, and learned IR codes are stored only on your Iris Hub
App Preferences: Your app settings and device configurations are stored on your mobile device
Home Assistant Data: Integration data is stored within your Home Assistant installation

2.3 WiFi Setup Process

During initial Iris Hub setup, you enter your WiFi credentials through the OmniRemote-Setup captive portal. These credentials are:

Transmitted directly to the Iris Hub over the local setup network (encrypted with WPA2)
Stored only on the Iris Hub’s local storage
Never transmitted to One Eye Enterprises or any external server

3. How We Use Information

Since we do not collect personal information, we do not use your data for any purpose. All processing happens locally on your devices within your home network.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data. Your device configurations, IR codes, and usage patterns remain entirely within your local network.

5. Data Security

Security measures built into OmniRemote:

Local-Only Communication: All device control happens exclusively on your local network
No Cloud Dependency: OmniRemote works completely offline after initial setup
Encrypted Setup: The WiFi setup network uses WPA2 encryption
Open Source: Our code is available for security review on GitHub
No External APIs: The app makes no calls to external servers

6. Children’s Privacy

OmniRemote does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Our services are designed for general audiences and do not target or knowingly collect data from children.

7. Third-Party Services

OmniRemote may integrate with the following third-party services:

Home Assistant: An open-source home automation platform that runs on your local network. See Home Assistant’s privacy policy.
MQTT Brokers: If you configure an external MQTT broker, that service’s privacy policy applies to data transmitted through it.

We do not embed any analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, crash reporting tools, or tracking libraries in our applications.

8. Your Rights and Control

Since we do not collect personal data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) do not apply to our services. However, you maintain complete control over all locally stored data:

View: Access your Iris Hub configuration via the web interface at port 8765
Modify: Change any settings or delete learned IR codes at any time
Delete: Factory reset your Iris Hub to remove all configuration
Export: Your Home Assistant configuration can be exported through HA’s built-in tools

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes may be communicated through our GitHub repository. Continued use of OmniRemote after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
